For over 125 years, young women have been part of an exceptional learning community celebrated for its rich blend of academic excellence, sporting endeavours, creative arts and co-curricular activities. Set in the picturesque city of Hobart, Collegiate provides a world class education in a unique corner of the globe known for its scenic beauty, history and warm sense of community.About the RolePart-time (0.428 FTE)Maximum term (1 year)Our teaching staff are dedicated professionals who are passionate about providing exceptional learning opportunities that cater for a diverse range of students and we invite outstanding educators with experience in numeracy support and gifted education to join our Junior School teaching team for the commencement of Term 1, 2022.You will be responsible for the planning and implementation of Gifted Education and Numeracy Support learning experiences for students in Kindergarten to Year 4.You will work collaboratively with teachers to support them to differentiate for students, establish separate programs when required, and work with the Junior School Learning Support Coordinator to assist students who require IEP’s, Profile Sheets and/or who attend Learning Support sessions. Teaching staff are expected to work as collaborative team players and to positively contribute to the teaching, learning and spiritual culture of the School that contribute towards the Mission, Purpose and Values of the School.Selection CriteriaTo be considered for this role the applicant must have:Bachelor of Education and or other equivalent academic qualification specific to the specialist area of educationHold a current Tasmanian Teachers' Registration Board (TRB) registrationA comprehensive understanding of current educational matters, including the Australian CurriculumHave an understanding of the developmental needs of Kindergarten to Year 4 school learners and an ability to encourage, support and challenge students both socially and academically.Be passionate about working with young people and have the ability to engage them in a dynamic learning environmentBe innovative in the teaching of curriculum and student learningOutstanding classroom practice and comprehensive experience using Information Technology within the teaching and learning programHave well-developed communication and interpersonal skills, including the capacity to interact effectively with a range of school community membersShow a commitment to the principles of equal opportunity in education for all studentsEmployment Conditions Remuneration is in accordance with the successful applicant’s experience and the St Michael's Collegiate School (Teachers) Enterprise Agreement 2020.St Michael’s Collegiate School is an organisation committed to Child Protection and to the implementation of child safe policies and practices.Our organisation undertakes several screening processes to ensure the appropriate protection of children in its care.
