For over 125 years, young women have been part of an exceptional learning community celebrated for its rich blend of academic excellence, sporting endeavours, creative arts and co-curricular activities. Set in the picturesque city of Hobart, Collegiate provides a world class education in a unique corner of the globe known for its scenic beauty, history and warm sense of community.Collegiate offers boarding for 35 students aged between 10 and 18 years.  The Boarding House is located amidst lush gardens in the heart of the Senior School and provides an excellent opportunity for students to access facilities such as the indoor heated swimming pool, library and the McNeill Performing Arts Centre.About the RoleCommencing immediately, this is a part-time, live-in position of approximately 20 hours per week during the  School term with on-site accommodation, utilities and meals provided for as part of the remuneration package.Working under the direct supervision of the Director of Boarding, the position involves the care and supervision of students residing in the Boarding House outside of school hours and the school holiday program  as rostered.We understand the importance of knowing each student as an individual and offer a nurturing environment where respect towards others and a happy community atmosphere prevails.  We value all and apply a sensible and monitored approach to the care of the students.  This is supported by the Principal who takes an active and personal interest in all boarders.Employment Conditions This position is classified at Level 2 ($25.13 per hour) Remuneration is paid under the St Michael's Collegiate School (General and Early Childhood Education and Care Staff) Enterprise Agreement 2018 and is based on a full year, averaged so that it is paid at a regular amount fortnightly. The salary package includes the provision of meals and accommodation at the Boarding House throughout the year. Meals are provided during School term time only. Accommodation is provided for the whole year, including during non-term time. St Michael’s Collegiate School is an organisation committed to Child Protection and to the implementation of child safe policies and practices.Our organisation undertakes several screening processes to ensure the appropriate protection of children in its care.
