School Laboratory Technician

About the RolePermanent ongoing positionPart-time (0.8 FTE)Commencement, Term 1 2022We  are seeking  a suitably qualified and experienced School Laboratory Technician to join our Science Faculty for the commencement of the 2022 school year (or as negotiated with the successful applicant).Reporting to the Head of Science, you will assist and support classroom practical's and all ancillary duties associated with the School’s learning program.This includes but is not limited to:the provision of technical services to the Science faculty that support the teaching of Science,preparation of experimental equipment and;maintaining an efficient and safe system for the use of chemicals, materials and equipmentThe successful candidate will have:Diploma in Laboratory Technology (analytical or scientific), or equivalent post-secondary qualification appropriate to the nature of the workDemonstrated experience as a laboratory technician (minimum 2 years)Current knowledge of workplace occupational and safety issues as they pertain to the position and compliance requirementsCurrent 1st Aid qualificationThe full list of selection criteria can be found in the role description which is located on the School website careers.collegiate.tas.edu.au Our staff are expected to be supportive of the School's Christian ethos, work as collaborative team players and to positively contribute to the teaching, learning and spiritual culture of the School that contribute towards our Mission, Purpose and Values.RemunerationThis position is classified at Level 3  and in accordance with the successful applicant’s experience and the St Michael's Collegiate School (General Staff and Early Childhood Education and Care Staff) Enterprise Agreement 2018.About St Michael's Collegiate SchoolSt Michael's Collegiate is an outstanding K to 12 Anglican day and boarding school for girls.
